This week I had to create two separate Map documents because my file was so big. It took a while because nothing would load, but I created two professional maps, one showing average elevation of the glaciers and one showing average area of the glaciers. Next week I will continue to clean up the maps. I also have different north arrows on the maps, I was trying to see which one I liked best and I think that I like the more slender north arrow the best. Next week I may even start analyzing the data. I am thinking that I could download the data into excel and create some graphs. We'll see how it goes.

Hey buddy!
ReplyDeletePersonally I prefer the bottom north arrow. I recommend you make the arrow as well as the scale bar a bit smaller. I also recommend that you make the map part larger and the legend and title smaller, because it's a lil hard to see! Looks good so far though, you're really far along in terms of already having two completed maps; congrats!!
I would agree with Eileen that the legend area kind of dominates the map. Making the map side larger would make the map look less cluttered. In my opinion the top north arrow looks better
ReplyDeleteHey Anna! I prefer the bottom north arrow as well. I agree with Eileen and Ryan that it would be helpful to make your legend slightly smaller in order to make your map data frame larger to see more detail! Also, it is definitely easier to see the dots sizes of the mean elevation in the first map compared to the glacial area on the bottom map due to the color. The light color on the top map are way easier to see the size differentiation than the darker color. Awesome work, you are really far along!
